So many parents are anxious when their last child leaves for college only to be surprised when they actually enjoy enjoy it. Researchers at Berkeley tracked marital happiness among 72 women and found that empty nesters scored higher on happiness than women who had children living at home. The difference was attributed to relationship satisfaction. This is good news for all those parents who dread the day when they say goodbye to their youngest child.
